Since 2002 we have been engaged in exhibiting an inventory of contemporary photography in our Loire Valley Biennale Festival. This ambitious project led us to the discovery of extremely talented artists as well as little known aspects of the medium.
We now feel it important to make these discoveries known in a more lasting way while preserving the uniqueness of some of our exhibitors' creative processes.
This is why we take great pleasure in introducing to you a body of work by photographer Ad Van der Zande, selected for the first volume of our bilingual limited edition art series.
The images created by this Dutch artist show unusual associations of objects photographed in black and white. The soft lighting reveals the nuances of every texture. The subtleties and range of the grey tones are well served by the bromoil printing, a photo technique that allows for the production of only one of a kind print.
This first 60 page volume in an 8 1/2 by 8 1/2 format, includes the reproductions of 30 original photographs on Fedrigoni Tintoretto Gesso 140g paper, sewn and pasted hard cover with embossed title. Edition limited to 125 numbered and signed copies. Publication scheduled for summer 2010.
